I have to satnd up all day at my job and its business casual so sneakers wont do. The shoes I have kill my feet in 4 hours. I need something very comfortable yet professional. Thanks!

I’m currently working in a shop under casual terms- meaning I’m not entitled to holiday leave, I’m able to refuse hours but likewise the shop do not have to give me hours.

I want to leave as soon as I find a new job, basically. My manager treats me like a subhuman, and it’s not worth the hassle anymore. My question is, because I’m a casual worker, do I have to give notice? This wasn’t outlined when I received the terms of my employment, and I can’t get a straight answer out of the HR department. I’d love to just drop my notice off one evening and start a new job the next day, but I’m worried that, even though I’m casual, I won’t be able to do this.

Anyone any wiser than I am on this?

I think you are wise either way, but you should consider the following; The manger should be listed as a reference on your next application to show that even though he is a jerk you were able to work as a subhuman for a decent amount of time. Its just professional to give a weeks notice to lousy companies. When you recieve th offer from the next company state though you would "Like" to give your company notice and that you are on a casual status and will most likely be able to start right away. Good Luck and keep your head up.

I start my new job tomorrow as a cashier at best buy. Wearing all black shoes and khaki pants is part of the uniform, but as for a top they simply said "something business casual." What does that mean?

Could be a button up blouse with a collar, polo shirt, some sort of nice shirt. You don’t want to wear the shirt from the last concert, no do you want to wear the shirt you would wear to the formal wedding. You don’t need a business jacket. Something nice and clean and "dressy" but not formal!!

I am in middle school (7th grade) and i will be going to a casual school dance tomorrow night, i want to look good, and please give me some suggestions on hair aswell. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone worked at mervyns before and can tell me what their business casual is? I was told to wear business casual, no jeans and that was it. I need to know what top i should wear. Can i wear no collar tops? do i have to wear a suit? and am i allowed to wear dickies?

You can wear any top, just as long as it is appropiate, nothing low cut, no logo’s on the shirts, or somthing that would support another shirt, no tank tops, and nothing too short, but other than that any shirt is fine. and yes i belive you can wear dickies i have sean a lot of people wear them there. no you dont have to wear a suit just look prosentable. Also if anything is wrong with what you are wearing they will tell you so dont worry.
